On these maps, each dot represents the primary location of a living language that is listed in the Ethnologue. After careful examination of the maps, discuss the following questions; first verbally with your classmates, then write a response to each question on your blog.
1. What, in your opinion, would explain the areas and countries on each map with the greatest concentration of living languages? (what about the least?
2. Identify those areas and countries which you think are at greatest risk of 'language death' or disappearance of those languages.
3. What reasons do you think there are for the decline in human languages?
4. Which reasons would best explain the decline in different parts of the world and why?
